The tale shares the story of a Trojan prince, Aeneas, who has had to flee the burning city of Troy in a quest to find a new home for his people.
OBJECTIVE:
The goal is to illustrate how The Aeneid has impacted various artistic movements and time periods, drawing connections between these pieces to highlight the epic’s enduring influence on modern-day culture and literature.
SOLUTION:
The booklet connects and showcases artwork and artifacts related to the story of Aeneas from The Met’s collection, demonstrating The Aeneid’s influence across different periods and art movements.
